2024-03 Launch Report (60 Acres)
March 3rd, 2024
This was an odd launch. I mean everything about it was unusual. The launch was shifted from our normal Saturday to Sunday based on the forecast midweek, then the forecast changed and it looked like we would get rained out. Then this morning it looked like we'd get an hour or hour and a half between rain squeals. Instead, we had three and a half hours that were only occasionally interrupted by a few sprinkles. Our usual crew was joined by folks from Blue Origin, SpaceX, and Bellevue College.
In the end, we ended up with fifty flights before stopping at 2:30 PM when no one had more rockets to fly. A breakdown of the flights was also unusual, without the usual peak at C motors:
1/2A motors (1 flight)
A motors (17 flights)
B motors (7 flights)
C motors (10 flights)
D motors (2 flights)
E motors (1 flight)
F motors (7 flights)
G motors (6 flights)
We have our last launch this spring at 60 Acres scheduled for April 6th. We are looking for people to help with all support positions including Launch Director, Range Safety Office, and set-up help. If you can help, we'll be discussing the launch at our next monthly meeting this coming Wednesday evening at 7 PM.
